Water Pollution Control

All wastewater in our factory comes to the treatment plant. Our treatment capacity is 2.000 m3 per day. The wastewater, coming to the treatment plant, will be discharged through biological treatment and physical treatment. The wastewater, coming into the treatment plant, which is in operation since the construction period of the factory and operates without interruption, will be taken in accordance with the discharge criteria in Table: 10.1.

Evaluation of Solid Wastes

Hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, generated in our factory are delivered to licensed companies in accordance with the environmental legislation.
Our flue gas emission measurements are carried out by licensed laboratories every 2 years, according to the regulations.

Zero Discharge of Hazardous Wastes:

Basing the Greenpeace's DETOKS campaign to end the release of harmful chemicals to nature and use in production, the big companies in the textile industry began to sign under the commitment of Zero Danger of Hazardous Wastes (ZDHC) until 2020. In this context, the use of 11 groups of chemicals is expected to be prohibited from 2020 on to ensure the use of more safe chemicals throughout the entire life and production period of the garment and footwear products, including the household textile products.

It is requested to establish and implement a Chemical Management System, that prohibits the purchase and / or use of all chemicals, listed in the MRSL (Manufactured Restricted List), which comes into existence as a result of the Zero Emission Policy of Harmful Chemicals. In order to prove, that the prohibited products are not used in the productions, it will be required to analyze for the 11 chemical groups, determined in the inlet water and wastewater samples and to take actions according to the results of the analysis. Having the ZDHC authority within the structure of the company, Mersu received good results from DETOX inspections of major brands. As a result of not having prohibited substances in the wastewater in its treatment, our company became the right to receive the latest version of the MRSL document.
